Pastors That Praise was organized and formed by Alphaeus Anderson, the visionary mind behind this history-making movement. In 2023, Alphaeus gathered more than 40 pastors, creating what would become one of the most memorable additions to SpiritFest, the largest Gospel Festival in the South East.. That first year, the group sang outside the arena, but he knew immediately that this powerful aggregation belonged on the Main Stage — and that’s exactly where they landed the following year.

But the name journey?
That’s where the comedy begins.

Originally, Alphaeus called the group “Pastors That Sing.”
Simple. Clear. Direct.
And absolutely terrifying to most pastors. Alphaeus saw many singers as really great singers on top of their preaching but they refuse to accept that reality.

When Alphaeus started inviting pastors under that name, the reactions were priceless: brows furrowed, phones got quiet, and some pastors suddenly remembered they had “other engagements.” Most of them responded with something like, “Now Alphaeus Anderson… I can’t sing…” followed quickly by, “…but I always got a praise!” So Alphaeus wisely rebranded the invitation to “Pastors That Praise.” Much easier to digest. Much less pressure. And once the fear of singing faded, pastors began signing up joyfully — even though, in the end, yes… they would still end up singing!

What started as a simple idea has become a bold statement and history in the making. Presented in a dynamic “Gaither Style” format, Pastors That Praise shows the world that pastors don’t just preach — they unite, they worship, and they lift their voices together in authentic, powerful praise.

This joyful, Spirit-led movement continues to grow, proving that when leaders gather with one heart and one praise, something extraordinary always takes place.
